Lucy Lan, MD MBA
Dr. Lucy Lan is a board-certified psychiatrist. She was born in China, grew up in the Southeastern US, made her way to the Northeast, the West Coast, and now the Southwest. She received her BA and MD from Wake Forest University in beautiful North Carolina. Towards the end of medical school, she received an MBA from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. She completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at Boston University/ Boston Medical Center. During residency, she pursued a psychoanalytic psychotherapy fellowship at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute to complement her therapy training from residency. After residency, she completed the 2022-2023 Interventional Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is the Chief of Interventional Psychiatry at the Southern Nevada VA, working on starting up esketamine, ketamine, and ECT services for veterans. Dr. Lan teaches psychiatry residents as an assistant professor at University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Outside of clinical practice, she has experience in venture banking, social entrepreneurship, and consulting for healthcare systems. Her research interests include neuromodulation (transcranial magnetic stimulation, electroconvulsive therapy), psychedelics, and the application of augmented/virtual reality for mental health treatment. Outside of medicine, she enjoys gardening, farmer's markets, exploring new places, and culinary adventures.
Dr. Lan cares for patients residing in CA and MA aged 18-64 at Joie Mental Health.
